Note: All tags are lower case without an initial capital
letter.
By convention, tags are singular (e.g. tree not trees).
For technical reasons they are a one word. So two words are joined together
if need be. For example,
water fowl becomes
waterfowl.
Requests for additional tags will be considered.
To accurately use these tags, you can double-click on a tag on this
page and then right-click and select copy. Then on the Flickr
page right click and paste into the tag field.
On this page, there are tags associated with the
Nature and Leisure topics, with
Dating and Search Engines. These
are followed by some Examples.
Working Party and Event photos are handled differently
as they are used to illustrate specific pages. They are explained at the
end of this page.
The Nature or Leisure tags should reflect the main subject of the photograph
and not incidental or minor detail. Use a
landscape tag for general
scenes.
Each of the Nature or Leisure tags has an associated topic page (e.g.
butterfly is a topic within the
Nature page and Walking is a topic within
the Leisure page). Photos with these tags will
appear on these pages in addition to the Gallery page.

As well as date tagging we ask you to set the Date Taken date on Flickr,
even if this is an approximation. This is done on the Flickr Organize
page.
The following text is ignored by the Gallery but they will be used by searches
made on Flickr and will therefore attract visits to the
Biss Meadows photo Pool.
These visits may lead to new members.
Note that these Recommended tags have an initial capital letter.

Working Party and Event Tags
Working Party and Event photos are handled differently as they are used to
illustrate the News and Events pages. They will however still appear in the
Gallery page and will be highlighted in the Category List.
They have the recommended Search Engine tags plus a
single date tag in the form wpddmmyy for Working Parties and
evddmmyy for Events. Known dates are listed below. If you define a
new date then please liaise with the Web Master
as there needs to be a coding change to the web site.
Also please set the Flickr Taken Date to the date of the Working Party
or Event. This is done on Flickr's Organize page.
