Sunday 5th June 2011 - Community Payback Clearance Work

A group of about 8 men from the Community Payback undertook some serious clearance work on the bank of the River  Biss by the Tesco car park..

This area had become very overgrown and was often used for drinking with the resultant litter which was difficult to clear. Besides cutting trees and undergrowth the group also collected many bags of litter. The work was supervised by Malcom and agreed with Leo Wirtz, the Senior Countryside Ranger at Wiltshire Council.  The Friends would like to thank Community Payback for their work in improving Biss Meadows.

Perhaps we should look into getting a nearby large organisation to sponsor some steps up to the Tesco footbridge so that this section of river bank is easily accessible!
