AGM 2011 - Thursday 31st March 2011
Displays on proposed Pond Restoration and Nature Trail

There was a good attendance of members, and also community and council representatives at the AGM. Formal business was short as possible as the main purpose was to present our two main projects and to launch the logo competition.

Pond Restoration

Members heard about all the activities to be undertaken to complete stage 2. They saw a display of ideas produced by two landscape architects as well as ideas from the committee as to the type of materials and styles to be used. A full report of the ideas will soon be available on our Projects page.

Nature Trail

A second display listed 10 ideas for items that could be incorporated into the proposed nature trail. Members had 6 small sticky feet that they used to vote for their favourite idea. A full report of the proposed nature trail and information about the voting will soon be available on our Projects page.

Other Displays

There were also a display about the proposed development of land south of Biss Meadows and the possibility of green corridors through to Biss Wood and Green Lane Wood. There was aslo a refreshed display about the Friends and our vision for Biss Meadows. This will be used a various events to publise the Friends and Biss Meadows.

Logo Competition

We need a logo for our website and promotional material, so we have launched a competition to encourage aspiring artists to design one for us.

The winning entry wins a craftsman made wooden carved snail, which is about 3 feet (1 metre) tall. This was created by Leo Wirtz, the Senior Countryside Ranger for Wiltshire County, whose hobby is wood carving.  This will make a unique addition to your garden.
